Pricing
Tutors set their own rate.
US tutors charge $60–$80 an hour. Ours live in India, publish a per-session rate on their profile and keep all of it. Apna takes no commission, so the price you see is the price you pay.

Ways to book
Pick the cadence. The tutor sets the price.
There are no Apna plans. Every booking is at the tutor’s own rate, shown on their profile before you book.
Try first
A short trial
Where a tutor offers one, a 15 to 60 minute trial at a price they set, so you and your child can meet them before committing to a weekly slot. Sit in if you like.
Most flexible
One session at a time
Book a session, see how it goes, book the next. No subscription, no minimum, and no card to browse or message.
Best for progress
The same tutor, week after week
Book the same tutor again each week: you request each session, so nothing renews on you. Your child gets one familiar face, and the tutor builds on last week instead of starting over.
Some tutors also publish multi-week courses with one price for the whole run. When a tutor has one, it is on their profile next to their rate.
Why it costs less
The same hour, without the commission.
Most tutoring platforms keep a share of every session, and that share ends up in the price. Apna takes none, so a teacher in Bangalore or Hyderabad can charge a rate that works for both of you and still keep every dollar of it.
What every rate includes.
One-on-one, live
Video on the tutor’s own Zoom, Google Meet or WhatsApp. Apna never sits in on the session.
Message before you book
Ask any tutor about your child first. No card to browse, and no account for your child.
Reviews from parents
Reviews come only from families who booked and had the session. A tutor with none shows none, never a filler rating.
The AI tutor, free for families
Reading, math and language practice for the days there is no session booked.
How paying works
You pay the tutor, not us.
Nothing is charged when you book
You request a slot, the tutor confirms it and sends the meeting link. No money moves yet.
After the session, pay the tutor directly
Zelle, Wise or UPI, whichever you both prefer. Apna does not hold your money and takes no commission.
Plans change? Give 24 hours’ notice
Cancel from your dashboard with a day’s notice at no cost. Later than that, tutors on Apna ask for half the price.
Card payment through Apna is on the roadmap. When it ships, you will see any processing fee before it applies to a session, and paying the tutor directly will still be an option.
